hmm..what can I say about this?.. another assignment for Joe Kubert long long time ago (the beginning of school year) this page comes before Anahita's castle. [link]

sorry about the bad lettering. Didn't have a scan without the lettering. which is why I never posted this here until now, was waiting for an oppertunity to scan it without the dialog, but realizing that school and life would never give me that extra time, I admitted defeat.

The page construction is just marvelous!

The detail is excellent, and I personally, think the lettering fits the comic well.

This is really interesting, is it based on Persian mythology? Also are there any other pages ? I'd love to see more.

yes.. it is based on persian mythology.. I currently go to school so I don't have much time to sit down and actually do what i really want to. I have 5 more pages that is being inked atm. I will post them as soon as they're done. nice to know that someone out there cares

i don't think the lettering is bad at all.. it's reminiscent of the 1980s black & white boom, before digital lettering was so prominent in mainstream and indie books alike. and there's still lots of people that hand letter and i believe it leaves an impression in your work that is more personal, most artists don't even bother attempting to emulate because they consider it an afterthought. the page itself is great too. really love the horeses. good job.

I really like the way you make the perspective of the horses, with out pratice they're hard to draw.
